I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management at American University, which I joined in August 2015. I am also a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at King's College London. I earned my doctorate in Business Administration with an emphasis on Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management from the University of Missouri, and my license in Economics from the Université Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium. Prior to pursuing my Ph.D., I worked for six years in the Banking and Consulting industries in London, Paris, and Brussels.
My research interests include job search, careers, recruitment, emotions, motivation, and humor at work. I have published my work in the Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, the Journal of Organizational Behavior, and Human Resource Management, and my research has been featured in public press outlets such as Time, Fast Company, and Psychological Science.
